Prosenjit Chatterjee’s made his celluloid debut as a child actor in
Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s ‘’ way back in 1968, for which he won the Bengali Film Journalist’s Association – Most Outstanding Work of the Year Award.
Interestingly he was cast in this film as ‘Bumba’ which is his pet name and also his father Biswajit Chatterjee played the reel-life father to Bumba in it. What started with ‘Chotto Jigyasa’ later became a fairy tale-like success story. He is still the most popular figure in Bengali cinema even after three decades since his full-fledged debut.
The celebrated actor recently took to his Twitter handle to share a throwback picture from the sets of ‘Chotto Jigyasa’. The black and white photo shows little Bumba in a cute police uniform posing for the camera.

On the work front, up next for the Tollywood superstar is Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘Jyeshthoputro’. He is also playing the titular role of Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming thriller ‘Gumnaami’.
