Priyanka, Sampurna, Saswata to share screen

Barshali Chatterjee, who has worked as an assistant director in many serials, is now set to direct her debut film, Jenana, with Priyanka Sarkar, Kanchan Mullick, Sampurna Lahiri and Saswata Chatterjee in the lead.
���The film revolves around the transgender community and I just loved the concept. Barshali has researched extensively on the subject. And that is the USP of the film. I play Riya, an aspiring filmmaker, who assists directors in megaserials.No one takes her seriously but Riya is hellbent on proving her mettle as a director.After much deliberation, she decides to make a film on transgenders. The film depicts Riya's journey as a filmmaker,��� informed Priyanka.
If all goes well, the film will go on the floors from last week of August. ���Those men, who join the transgender community for their livelihood are called jenanas. My film begins with Somu aka Sumona, a jenana, narrating his story to Riya,��� informed the director.
Sampurna, who just did a look test for the film, said, ���I play a village girl, struggling for a living. I found the storyline quite gripping and here, I am sporting a deglam look.���
While music is being composed by Debajyoti Mishra, others in the cast include Rupanjana Maitra and Kharaj Mukherjee.
