She says, “The second wave of COVID-19 has been definitely different from the first. In the first wave, there was the fear of the unknown. The fear has been replaced by a quiet confidence now that we can fight back. Armed with vaccine, we believe we can bounce back in no time. So, I tried to spend the lockdown 2.0 in the most positive way I could. Things that took most of my time are playing chess, gardening, baking and of course, at-home easy fitness regime that kept me active while the gyms were all shut.”

Elaborating on her newfound interests, Priyanka shares, “I got exposed to chess through a friend of mine and in no time I realized it is a very tough game. But it is equally interesting and a great hobby to pursue. The more I learnt the game the more it took over me and now I am totally in love with it. As for gardening, it has been really therapeutic. I planted a few indoor flowering plants like Peace lily, Rain lily pink, Gerbera yellow etc. I also planted some air purifying plants keeping in mind we spend most of the days indoors now. Reading about the basic care of these plants, looking up for the best fertilizers along with daily watering has been a great learning experience altogether. I have also been baking cakes since the first lockdown last year. During this lockdown, I took my baking skills a notch higher. And now I can proudly say my chocolate cakes come out really amazing.”

The actress also kept herself motivated by working out at home every day. Sometimes she had to drag herself into it but is still she didn’t give up. “The most important thing is to keep oneself fit both physically and mentally given the present situation we are in. It was tough to do it especially during the lockdown but I tried to do short sessions of 30 minutes of free hand workouts thrice a week. There is now also an impending fear of the third wave of the pandemic hitting us, and all we can do to curb it is by still following the basic safety protocols like wearing a mask whenever stepping out, using hand sanitizers and maintaining social distance. Also, I would urge everyone to take their dose of vaccination if they haven’t still,” adds Priyanka.
The actress will soon be seen in director Kamaleswar Mukherjee’s upcoming psychological thriller, Anusandhan, which also stars Saswata Chatterjee, Paayel Sarkar, Riddhi Sen and others.
