Film celebs across the nation are now more focused on films shot in isolation, especially short films. We have already seen some beautifully made short films like ‘Hing’, ‘Rupkotha’ winning hearts. And now, Debarati Gupta’s short ‘Preme Lockdown’ from Tvwala Media adds a little bit of twist to this crisis.
Unlike most of the other lockdown short films which focuses on grave and serious issues, this short film is a pure entertainer and brings a fresh air among all the tensions surrounding us.
Starring
Prantik Banerjee,
Anubhav Kanjilal and
Anuradha Mukherjee, ‘Preme Lockdown’ is a story of a budding romance between neighbours amid the lockdown.
Two roommates, Prantik and Anubhav have different takes on the pros and cons of making friends with girls. While Anubhav’s character believes it’s impossible due to the physical distancing, Prantik’s character has something unique in mind while expressing his feelings for the neighbourhood girl played by Anuradha.
He prepares food for the girl and Anubhav goes to deliver it, with a letter. Surprised to see the food delivered at her doorstep Anuradha enjoys the emotions conveyed in the letter.
However, there’s a twist in the end. The direction in which this romance blossoms is something unique. The story also comes with a flavour of nostalgia, the flavour of friendship; wherein close friends sometimes enjoy advantage of miscommunication. With so relatable and touching dialogues between friends, ‘Preme Lockdown’ is a refreshing take on current situation.
