Pratim D Gupta’s previous two films ‘Maacher Jhol (2017) and ‘Ahare Mon (2018) were screened at the prestigious South Asian International Film Festival in New York. Now, with his latest directorial ‘Shantilal O Projapoti Rohoshyo’ Pratim has pulled off a hat-trick as this thriller will also have its international premiere in New York.

Paoli Dam in the lead, the thriller revolves around Shantilal. Life hasn`t been very kind to Shantilal, who is in his late thirties, unmarried and stuck in a thankless job as a weather reporter. On the other hand, Nandita is a popular movie star who has it all, and plans to venture into politics next.
When the worlds of these two people collide on a fateful day, it sets off a chain of incidents that take Shantilal on an adventurous roller-coaster ride from Kolkata to Chennai and Singapore. And at the end of it all, the unassuming reporter may just rediscover himself - as a sharp detective!
