Poster perfect: Prem By Chance

Koel, Abir and Suman do a poster shoot for Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guhas Prem By Chance
Poster perfect: Prem By Chance
Three cheers to Tollywood taking the professional route! At least in terms of poster designing for films, the industry has come of age.
Gone are the days when film scenes would be part of a film poster. Instead, special photo-shoots are being done to come up with that perfect poster for a film. This, in turn, garners a greater audience pull. Going by these norms, the main cast (Koel Mallick, Suman Banerjee and Abir Chatterjee) of Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guhas Prem By Chance had their photo shoot done, recently.
1x1 polls
Says the films director, A lot depends on a films poster. It has to be designed in a stylised way so that it clicks with the audience at the very first glance. The audience should go like, Bah bhalo toh poster ta, mone hochhe film tao bhalo hobe, dekhte hobe! She adds, We did the photo shoot for PBCs poster for nearly five hours. There was proper art work with an art director, make-up artist, photographer and an entire team to assist the shoot, in place. I wanted all three men (Suman, Abir and Arijit) in Koels life to be part of the films poster. Sadly, Arijit Dutta couldnt make it due to his prior commitments. Well shoot with him separately.
While everyone was chilled out on the sets, delivering to the T was also uppermost in everyones minds. The photographer and art director were instructing Koel to move the eye ball one centimetre without moving the head and at times she was instructed to tilt her head half a centimetre without moving the body. Then there was a shot where Koels dupatta would have to flutter in the air, but her hair had to be perfect. So the person, who was holding the fan to give that feel to Koels dupatta, had a tough time! laughs the director.
Sudeshna, however, is all praise for Abir, who according to her, did a commendable job. To shoot the fight sequences, Abir was standing on one foot (as if he was kicking someone) for more than 10 minutes. He had to lift Koel on his shoulder for more than 15 minutes as the photographer was taking shots from different angles. Thank God, Koel is so slim. Suman too did a good job, she said.
Ask her with three men in Koels life, who finally wins her heart and the director cheekily answers, Wait-n-watch. We hope the posters too convey the message that this is a film to watch out for.
