In a first, even as
Abir Chatterjee is shooting for Byomkesh Gowtro in
Mussoorie
, the first look of
Bidaay Byomkesh
is out and is already winning hearts. After playing the sleuth with absolute finesse in one too many films, the actor will now star in a spin-off. In this film, audiences will see
Abir
Chatterjee as an aged Byomkesh with his grandson — both the characters portrayed by Abir himself. The actor took to Twitter to share the poster with his fans and followers. In the poster, one can see an aged Byomkesh and a silhouette of a younger Byomkesh.
The film delves into how the duo solves a murder mystery. The story, unlike other byomkesh franchise, is not written by Sharadindu Bandopadhyay but instead has been penned by director
Debaloy Bhattacharya. Speaking to us about the character, Abir said, "It's a huge risk. It's in stark contrast to how I've always played the character. This time, Byomkesh is an octogenarian. Although he's not running after the truth all the time, his aptitude has not taken a backseat — when it comes to intelligence, he is still at his best." It will be interesting to see Abir in a dual role.
