Shrimati is the story of an upper-middle-class, simple, fun-loving and a bit disorganised housewife madly in love with her husband named Sri who falls prey to society's glitz and glamour and in the bargain loses his own identity. In today's malevolent world, where the outer appearance means everything, Sri falls victim to the cliched problem of overall personality and outward appearance that plagues all minds — from teenagers to adults and beyond. She becomes obsessed and in the process almost loses her mind and identity till the sudden realization that irrespective of the way people think and the way the world goes, one should never forget the soul that dwells within. Sri's husband Anindya (Soham Chakraborty) and her loving family comprising her son Kuttush, mother-in-law Pratima, sister-in-law Brishti, and maid
Kajol are her constant support. “What happens to Sri is what this film is all about,” said the director
Kheya, who plays Kajol, a domestic help in this film, is happy that she got to play a different character in this film. “Many people asked me why I accepted this offer and agreed to play a domestic help on screen. And my answer was — why not? As an actor, I should play different kinds of characters. In fact, our domestic help helped me to get into this character better,” said the actress who is presently in Mumbai shooting for ad commercials and web series.
