Post Vinci Da’s success, Srijit Mukherji takes a break

The filmmaker is off to Bangalore
Srijit Mukherji is a happy man. After the success of his latest thriller, Vinci Da, the filmmaker has taken a small break from work to go to Bangalore — a city, where the director has spent years while he was working.

“It is like my second home. Currently, I will be living in

Koramangala

, a friend’s place. For the next seven days, I will just chill and will not think of work,” he told us, adding, “I am very happy and gratified that Vinci Da is being liked by the audience. It has gained momentum and I am relieved. This is a well-earned break for me.”

The director has posted photos of Bangalore on Instagram. “Dreams with transluscent wings slowly rustling out to fly. Faces and roads and trees and buildings which house a million memories like a brittle family album. The only other city in the world for me apart from Kolkata which can justify the word – homecoming (sic),” he wrote.

Srijit reached Bangalore on Monday morning and will be there for almost eight days. “I will be back next Monday. These seven days, there is no work for me. I will be back and start the pre-production of Kakababu,” he said.

The filmmaker’s next tryst with

Sunil Ganguly

’s iconic character Kakababu is slated to release this year. After

Mishawr Rawhoshyo

and

Yeti Obhijaan

, Prosenjit Chatterjee will once again return as Kakababu, aka Raja Roy Chowdhury, while Aryaan Bhowmick will revive Santu’s character. As of now, the film is called Kakababur Protyaborton. Srijit also has another upcoming project on Gumnaami Baba — a person, who claimed to be Netaji.
