The story revolves around a village boy Kesto who faces the everyday wrath of his brother and his wife. However, his step-mother and a village teacher have soft corner for him. Kesto often finds solace in his bamboo flute and the playful young kids of the village. One day the teacher’s granddaughter Sonali comes from the city and it all starts from here. Kesto’s mundane life turns into a colourful one as he falls for Sonali despite her ignorance. However, after an accident Kesto’s blood save Sonali’s life. She finally falls for him. But before she could express her feelings, Kesto suddenly goes missing. What happens next forms the crux of the film.
While the music is by Amit Dasgupta, eminent singers Srikanta Acharya, Kalyani Sen, Kallol Chakraborty, Anirudhha Rana and others will be lending their voices to the songs in ‘Pora Banshi’.
