If nobody interferes, re-release of ‘Parcel’ won’t be a problem, believes the film’s director
Indrasis Acharya. ‘Parcel’ had hit the theatres on March 13 but then came the devastating coronavirus impact which shut down not only Kolkata but entire India.
Apart from the schools, colleges, all the film and TV shoots were stalled. Cinema halls were closed. To contain the spread of the virus now India is under complete lockdown until April 14.
Those films including ‘Parcel’ and ‘Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti’ which released prior to the shut down suffered a lot.
“Parcel had received a good response before all these happened. So we have decided to re-release the film. But we have to overcome this crisis first. Everything will be pushed back. If those films which are scheduled to release later are pushed back systematically then all these can be sorted out. The situation is such that we have to keep in mind these facts. I hope ‘Parcel’ will re-release without any hiccup,” says the critically acclaimed director.
The thriller starring stars
Saswata Chatterjee,
Rituparna Sengupta, Sreela Majumder,
Ambarish Bhattacharya and Daminee Basu among others in pivotal roles has a non-explicit, realistic and open-ended script. It shows human reactions to certain situations without the reasons being told.
