Parambrata is excited to work with Soumitra

When actor Parambrata Chatterjee first read the script of Sraboner Dhara: Between Rain Drops, he was more than happy to be part of the film. It was not only because of the beautiful script, but the amount of screen time he could spend with veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee in the film. “That itself was enough reason for me to say yes to the film. Working with Soumitra jethu is always a pleasure, and I consider it a learning experience,” said Parambrata.

Talking about the film, the actor said it talks about the challenges faced by elderly people in our society. While the film is based on an Alzheimer’s patient and his struggle, it deals with much more than just a medical condition. It is a tale of how a particular condition can destroy relationships. “My own grandmother was a patient of Alzheimer’s. So, I know the pain it can cause to the person and their entire family. By doing this film, I actually got to learn so much more about the condition and found myself sympathising with the patients. Besides, the film also tells the story of modern-day life and how it makes all of us so lonely,” he added.

Directed by Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, Sraboner Dhara also stars Gargee RoyChowdhury as Soumitra Chatterjee’s on-screen wife. Soumitra plays a history professor,
