Parambrata Chattopadhyay chose to mark his 44th birthday not with a glitzy party, but in quiet, heartfelt celebration with patients at a dementia daycare centre in Kolkata.

Sharing moments from the day on social media, he wrote: “Can’t remember their forgotten memories, what’s the fault in trying to give memories to remember?”


The actor spent the day singing, chatting, laughing, and cutting cake with the residents of the centre, many of whom are under treatment for memory-related illnesses. A highlight of the afternoon was his rendition of Akash Bhora Surjo Tara, the Tagore classic that gently filled the room with nostalgia and warmth.

“This was the best way I could spend my birthday,” he said. “Those who filled me with greetings, love, blessings... my gratitude to all of them!”
