I am still pinching myself,��������� says Paoli from Cannes on Wednesday morning. Having walked the red carpet at the Festival de Cannes, Paoli is ecstatic. ���������This is the most important event of my life,��������� the actor says.
Ask her about the red carpet experience and she says, ���������Icelandic actor T������mas Lemarquis, my co-star in ���������Chatrak���������, and I were specially invited for the screening of Aki Kaurism������ki���������s ���������Le Havre���������.

He is such a celebrated Finnish director. His most successful movie has been ���������The Man Without a Past���������. In 2002, it had won the Grand Priz and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival. His ���������Le Havre��������� is in competition this year. I went for the screening and loved the film. Earlier, I had attended a party that was thrown by NFDC, where I met the likes of Anurag Kashyap, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Ashutosh Gowariker, among others,��������� she adds.
While the movie screening experience was exciting, what was even more delightful was to hear her name being announced when she walked the red carpet. ���������My name was announced and I was introduced as the actor, who had come to Cannes and whose film, ���������Chatrak���������, would be screened at the Director���������s Fortnight Section. I was literally blinded by the flashbulbs.���������
Before rushing off to attend the press conference of her movie, she says, ���������I chose to wear a white-and-red dhakai sari. That won appreciation from the French audience. They have never seen such a traditional Bengali sari before. I suppose, no Indian actor has worn a dhakai sari on the red carpet. I was told it made me stand out in the fashionable crowd at Cannes.���������
