Nusrat Jahan is making heads turn at this year's KIFF inauguration

Nusrat Jahan, who always makes her presence felt at the

Kolkata International Film Festival

(KIFF), is all set to attend this year’s inauguration ceremony tonight. The actress-MP will be accompanied by her mother-in-law, who is also helping Nusrat decide which sari to wear for the occasion.
“My husband (Nikhil Jain) is in Mumbai, so he will not be attending the programme. My in-laws are choosing a sari for me. Since Nikhil is not around, I have requested my mother-in-law to come along with me,” said Nusrat.

She will soon be leaving for Delhi to attend the winter session of Parliament, which begins on November 18. “I have read that KIFF will pay homage to Bernardo Bertolucci and six of his celluloid films will be screened at the festival. This is great news. They have also planned to pay a tribute to stalwarts like Mrinal Sen, Girish Karnad, Vidya Sinha, Ruma Guha Thakurta,

, Swarup Dutta and Mohammed Zahur Khayyam. I would love to watch their films, but there’s a lot of work for my constituency that I need to complete before leaving for Delhi. Besides, I’m also left with a few portions of dubbing for Pavel’s Asur,” Nusrat told us.
Talking about the film in which she plays Aditi, Nusrat said she is delighted to work with the team. “Even after the film shoot was over, I asked Pavel, ‘Is Aditi real?’ It is a complex character and my director keeps telling me that there are many Aditis around us. My character goes through a mental turmoil. The film will show how she deals with it. I used to take 10 to 15 minutes to get ready for this film as I’m hardly using any makeup other than kajal, a bindi and some lip gloss. Working with Jeetda and Abir is really fun. It is less work and more play. They just won’t stop pulling my leg,” Nusrat signed off.
