Taalpatar Shepai, theBengali music band, has recorded
Chena Ghor for Tathagata Mukherjee’s upcoming family drama
Raas. Sung by Pritam Das, with lyrics by Kritee Roy and a heartfelt composition by Suman Ghosh and Pritam Das, the song promises to transport listeners to the tranquil lanes of rural Bengal.
Chena Ghor unfolds during a poignant moment when Somnath (Vikram Chatterjee) revisits his ancestral home after 18 years. His childhood love, Rai (Devlina Kumar), takes him on a nostalgic journey through Manikpur, where Somnath rediscovers the simplicity and warmth of rural life. The memories of playful evenings in village playgrounds and carefree explorations of farmland evoke a deep realization about the hollowness of urban existence, where material pursuits often eclipse genuine human connections.
The film’s ensemble cast includes Anirban Chakrabarty as Dwipayan, Anasuya Majumder as Alakananda, Shankar Debnath as Sukanta, Arna Mukhopaddhay as Raktim, Ranojoy as Soumik, Parijat Chaudhuri as Sanjh, Debasish as Bhombol Da, Sudip Mukherjee as Rajat, Debaprasad Halder as Prem Kumar, and Apratim Chatterjee as Biswajit.
With Taalpatar Shepai’s evocative arrangement adding soul to the narrative,
Raas promises to be a heartwarming exploration of love, memories, and self-discovery.
