The choreographer talks about his new collaboration with Anubrata Chatterjee and Neepabithi Ghosh Sudarshan Chakravorty will be collaborating with Neepabithi Ghosh and Anubrata Chatterjee for a concert on September 28. Ask Sudarshan why he went for this new collaboration and he says, "Marking the advent of 'Devipaksha', I wanted to prepare a performance space as an altar to invoke the Goddess.
I asked Anubrata to use his percussion and sound with which the dancers can improvise using the whole space of the venue." As for Neepabithi, the choreographer says, "I wanted a singer who could render both English and Bangla songs. I needed someone with the cosmopolitan sensibility. Neepa fits the bill perfectly. We are using two songs. One is "Eki labanyo" and the English number is "Wind beneath my wings"."
The idea of presenting such a concert is to invoke the goddess in women who seem to be very ordinary and busy in their mundane lives but actually have the power, strength and vitality of the Goddess.
