My wedding was no less than a fairy tale: Nusrat
With crystal-clear blue waters and rolling hills covered with citrus and olive trees as witness, Tollywood’s star MP, Nusrat Jahan, exchanged wedding vows at a luxury resort in the Turkish town of Bodrum on June 19. As Nikhil bent down on his knees to exchange vows, Nusrat beamed with happiness. Later on, she described her wedding as a “fairy tale” and told CT that she was looking forward to a life of happiness with Nikhil by her side.

God has been very kind. I am the happiest to be sharing my life with someone who leaves no stone unturned to bring a smile on my face!” It was difficult to miss that radiant smile on her face in all the photos from the four functions held at four different venues of the exotic Bodrum resort.
For those who came in late, Bodrum is fast turning into a popular wedding destination for many Indians too. This port city — earlier called Halicarnassus of Caria — was famous for housing the Mausoleum of Mausolus (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World). The breathtaking view of the peninsula is the perfect setting for any fairy-tale wedding. It is this view of the peninsula that has now become the backdrop of Nusrat’s newly-changed display photo on WhatsApp. A day after the wedding, Nusrat changed her profile picture on WhatsApp. Earlier on, she had a black-and-white profile photo.

The picture uploaded by Nusrat shows the lovebirds encircled by a floral ring in one of their post-wedding functions. Dressed in a milky white gown, a flowing veil and mauve orchids, Nusrat looks like a picture of elegance. The white veil blows in the wind while Nusrat embraces Nikhil, who looks dapper in a black tuxedo.
The couple will be returning to Kolkata late on Saturday night. A little birdie told us that their love nest is being done up in Alipore. “Nusrat and Nikhil want to make sure that their home looks warm and beautiful. So, it’s natural for them to do it up with a lot of care. If it isn’t ready now, they will first stay at Nikhil’s ancestral Alipore flat. Subsequently, they will shift to their new home. Nusrat’s Broad Street flat will be turned into her office space. As a newly-elected MP, she will need an office to operate,” said a source close to the couple.
