Moubani Sorcar is busy weaving magic on the big screen. Flaunting a full kitty, the youngster is part of debutant director Premanshu Roy���������s comedy, Wrong Number and Pintu Chatterjee���������s Joker.The actor though isn���������t too keen to spill the beans on Premanshu���������s project and all she shares for now is that for the first time, she will be trying a comic role.
���������At a time when Hindi remakes are catching on fast, it is good to be part of something that is very Bengali and original. Interestingly, my character lacks the usual comic clich������s and yet is very Bengali at the core,��������� explains Moubani.
The actor, however, is equally excited about Joker and she elucidates why. ���������It���������s a high tension drama about career and ambition. I play the protagonist���������s love interest and is by his side even when his career is in the dumps,��������� she says. Sharing the details of his project, Chatterjee says that it is the story of a man who had all the promises to be a great footballer but lost out on the fair chances of life because of politics on and off the field. ���������He now earns his living as a joker showing off his juggling skills. He lives in the hope that one day his son will become a great footballer. But as luck would have it, he falls a prey to TB and now his son has to join the circus to earn money as a joker,��������� explains Chatterjee. Paired opposite Moubani will be Saheb Bhattacharjee. ���������We had worked together in a popular ad campaign and had become buddies,��������� reasons Moubani. The cast also includes Tamal Roy Choudhury, Kharaj Mukherjee and Papiya Adhikari, to name a few. The story and script for the film are by Tapan Bhattacharya. Incidentally, the director���������s next will be a love story featuring Rahul and Priyanka.
