It was a big relief for
Arindam Sil when he received the long-awaited permission to shoot in Bangladesh for his upcoming ‘Balighawr’ back in May. He was supposed to start shooting in Bangladesh from September. But the neighbouring country’s current political turmoil and upcoming national election have forced the Arindam to postpone the shooting schedule of the Indo-Bangladesh venture.
While elaborating on the latest development, the renowned director said, “The producers from Bangladesh have informed me that due to the upcoming national election there no foreign filmmakers will be allowed to work in Bangladesh right now.
I was planning to start ‘Balighawr’s Bangladesh shooting in September. I don’t know if I will be able to complete the film. We have invested all our hard work for the last one year. It’s really frustrating. If its future is still uncertain then I can’t waste my time on it. ‘Bomkesh Gowtro’ is releasing this Puja, so I will be now busy with this one.”
‘Balighawr’ is based on late Bengali novelist Suchitra Bhattacharya’s one of the memorable works, ‘Dheu Ase Dheu Jai’.The ensemble cast includes
Abir Chatterjee, Parno Mittra,
Rudranil Ghosh,
Anirban Bhattacharya and Bangladeshi actors Arifin Shuvo, Nusrat Imroz Tisha and Qazi Nawshaba Ahmed.
