Moral boost for ‘Abyakto’ director Arjunn Dutta
Arjunn Dutta is on cloud nine as his directorial debut ‘Abyakto’ continues to receive good reviews while enjoying a prestigious festival round. The film was recently screened at the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival and Bengaluru Bengaluru Bengali Kannada Film Festival as part of the official selection and was lapped up by the audience.
What’s more encouraging for Arjunn is South superstar Nagarjuna’s wife, actress Amala Akkineni who hails from Kolkata, was also present at the Hyderabad screening and she heaped praise on Arjunn for his efforts.

“I was totally surprised when Amala Akkineni said she went emotional after watching the film. It feels really great to receive appreciation from such big film personalities. She has even said that she will ask Nagarjuna to see the film. I am happy that ‘Abyakto’ is receiving these appreciations,” said the young director who also posed with Amala for a candid picture.
“Those who watched the film said they loved it. It is extremely encouraging when you hear good things about your debut film. There were many who became emotional after watching the emotional saga that revolves around a mother and a son,” added an elated Arjunn saying that he even received request for a second screening at the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival.
Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival director Partha Pratim Mallik also admitted ‘Abyakto’ received an overwhelming response: “Everybody was talking about Abyakto. Even those who watched it, they came to me after the Festival requesting another screening of the film. It feels great to see such response. Arjunn’s story literally moved us.”
‘Abyakto’ was also screened at two prestigious film festivals recently in Germany - the 16th Indian Film Festival Stuttgart and at Indo-German Film Week where Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Uma’ and ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ were also screened.
