Mithun Chakraborty & Debasree Roy to pair up again in Pathikrit Basu’s next film

Pathikrit Basu’s upcoming film Sashtri revolves around Porimol who is a man with humble origins. The movie brings back the iconic pair Mithun Chakraborty and Debasree Roy on the big-screen, as the leads whereas the actors, Soham Chakraborty, Rajatava Dutta, Sauraseni Maitra, Anirban Chakraborty, Kanchan Mullick and Saswata Chatterjee will be seen in the other prominent roles. Indraadip Das Gupta will be directing the film’s music.The film traces Porimol’s life, who slogs in a factory to earn a simple livelihood for himself and his family. However, despite his struggles, he can't stop buying lottery tickets and going to astrologers with the hope of getting lucky. In a turn of events, he wins a small fortune on the very day his factory shuts down, for him to only come home and see that his son has made a paper boat out of the ticket and set it afloat. To make things worse, a few years later, as he still tries to make ends meet, a local politician comes knocking at his door, asking for its possession. The film unfolds this point onwards as things begin to change eventually as he buys a pair of glasses that help him see the future. The plot traces his journey from being Porimol, to an astrologer- Porimol Baba, who is so accurate with his predictions that it helps him finally turn his life around.
