He was absent from Bengali films for almost three years owing to health issues and now the iconic
Mithun Chakraborty is set for his Tollywood return in ‘Sahaj Pather Gappo’ fame
Manas Mukul Pal's next film.
It’s a biopic on Bengali freedom fighter Dinesh Gupta. The talented filmmaker was in Mumbai to narrate the script to the veteran actor. Mithun instantly liked it and agreed to be a part of the film.
He just said: "Provide me with peace of mind to play the role," and that was his only condition. The seasoned actor will don the role of a freedom fighter whose name has been lost in the history. Manas also claims he has penned the character keeping only Mithun Chakraborty in mind but remains tight-lipped about the character Mithun will essay.
Meanwhile, Mithun Chakraborty played a key role in the recently released ‘The Tashkent Files’ directed by
Vivek Agnihotri. The Bollywood flick is based on India's former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri's mysterious death. Mithun was seen as Shyam Sunder Tripathi. He has one more film in the pipeline, a horror-comedy titled ‘Bhootiyapa’.
