Mir Afsar Ali will soon be seen in a dark thriller ‘
Oki Agari
’ directed by
Samik Roy Chowdhury
. It’s a short film, set in the 90s backdrop, produced under the banner of Creative World Entertainment while Sarmishtha Ghosh is the creative producer.
Beside Mir, the film also stars
Devlina Kumar in a key role.
Rupam Islam has been roped in to compose the music. In ‘Oki Agari’ is a playing the role of a Lawyer and Devlina is his client. Daichi Dutta, a junior lawyer is played by Mir. The lawyer lands up with a case where he has to fight for the custody of a child. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
“The title Oki Agari is from the Japanese which means ‘Getup’ and ‘Arise’, and is associated frequently with the Japanese phrase “Nanakorobi Yaoki” which loosely translates to “Seven times down, Eight times up”. This is one of my main philosophies in life. It doesn’t matter how many times life knocks you down, if you are able to stand-up at least one more time you might just get through this life without dying first,” said Samik while speaking about his 15-minute short film.
