With Praktan still basking in the glory of 5 Filmfare awards this year, director-duo
Shiboprasad Mukherjee
and
Nandita Ray
are ready with their next venture. The first look of Posto is out and by the looks of it, this is going to be another blockbuster! With Praktan, the directors brought together Rituparna Sengupta and Prosenjit Chatterjee back in the same frame after a long 15 years. This time, it's Mimi, Jisshu, Soumitra Chatterjee and Lily Chakraborty in the lead. While Soumitra Chatterjee and Lily Chakraborty play grandparents in the film,
Jisshu
and
Mimi
will be seen as a couple. The film was shot in Kolkata and Santiniketan.
The director-duo is known for highlighting middle-class issues in their films and Posto is no different. The film revolves around a battle of guardianship between parents and grandparents over a kid, played by child artiste Argha Basu Roy. Sources tell us, there was an extensive audition conducted for the role of the child-- about 600 kids auditioned to land the role.
Posto is slated to release in May 2017
We reached director Shiboprasad Mukherjee and he shared his feelings. "Much like the dish Posto, I hope this film too is loved by one and all. We are releasing it in May and that's the time for summer vacation. Everything so far is in the film's favour and I hope it has a successful run at the box office," he said. The director also couldn't stop gushing about how cute Argha (who plays Posto in the film) is. "He's the cutest child ever. He has done a stupendous job in the film," he said with a smile.
As soon as Mimi shared the look on Twitter, she was greeted with a barrage of tweets from fans, all eagerly waiting for the film to release. Here are our chosen few...
