A well-educated Srimoyee belongs to a middle-class family. Her parents are preparing to get her married. One day the independent young lady gets involved in a political march and it changes her life forever. She slowly steps into the slippery, dirty world of politics. Srimoyee eventually cancels her marriage as she believes marriage will stand against her political career.
However, it all goes wrong for the highly ambitious young lady.
That’s what the story of director duo Surajit Nag and Ujjwal Basu’s upcoming film which is slated for a January 24 release. Incidentally, Ujjwal Basu has also made a crowd-funded film ‘Dudh Pither Gaach’.
Titled as ‘Michil’, it’s inspired by a short story by Pracheta Gupta.
Basabdatta Chatterjee essays the lead role of Srimoyee. The rest of the cast includes
Shantilal Mukherjee, Bhaswar Chattopadhyay, Falguni Chattopadhyay,
Samadarshi Dutta and Rumki Chattopadhyay.
Raja Narayan Deb has composed the music of ‘Michil’. A Jay Goswami poem has also been used in the film.
