On the other hand, Cactus is a silent feature film by independent filmmaker Aneek Chaudhuri that premiered in Vienna, was nominated for Rome Independent Film Awards and was presented in the market section of Festival de Cannes. Cactus comments on the life of Jesus Christ and presents Him as a female. The film has already got movie lovers talking for its content.
On this selection, Aneek says, “IFFM has a significant role in my career as I had started my filmmaking from the very festival in 2011. Even last year, my film, White, got great reception at IFFM. This is a platform where independent features can be viewed and are kept in the same category as that of mainstream film. This is a great opportunity for us.”
From what is being reported so far, Shah Rukh Khan will be the chief guest at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2019 and will span from August 8-17. Apart from these two films, there will be several other Indian films.
