Meet the desi ‘Che’

Biswanath Basu has more than one interesting project up his sleeve. The actor will soon play the title role in Che, the name for which derives from Argentine Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara. Directed by Shaheb, who is known for his small-screen projects, the film will see the actor play a character with dense hair and the many hurdles he comes across. “A family member christens him as Che after birth, so that he grows up be the face of revolution. It’s an amazing role and I am looking forward to it,” said Biswanath. Meanwhile, the actor is leaving for Benaras to shoot for Sujit Mondal’s next with Soham and Srabanti. “I play a cop in the film. It’s a very interesting role,” he said. On the cards is one more film with Anindya Sarkar. “In it I play a pivotal role, along with Kaushik Sen,” informed Biswanth.
