Kousani to feature in megaserial

Kousani Roy is excited about her new role in the megaserial, ���������Debi Boron���������. Directed by Sayantan Mukherjee, this is set in contemporary times at Moynagram.
Kousani elaborates, ���������I am the mejo bou of this zamindar house and my name is Mamata. My husband
marries me in the face of stiff opposition from his family. I belong to a lower middle-class family and my in-laws ask us to leave the house.Under such circumstances, the couple meets with an accident as a result of which Mamata���������s husband loses his eyesight. That gives my in-laws all the more reason to believe that I bring bad luck.
The family lets them stay on the condition that the two won���������t meet. My husband is locked away in a room and threatened saying that if he dares meet me, he���������ll never see me again. A similar threat is also given to me. Such is my oppression that I am beaten up by even the head of the domestic help. But then, an outsider comes to the house and eventually, helps Mamata gain her status.���������
With an atpoure sari teamed with sindoor on the forehead and a sindoor bindi, the look is something that Kousani has never tried. ���������Also, I liked the gradual transition of my character. From an independent woman, she is ready to bear all for the sake of her husband and then again, fights back when she has some backing.
There are many shades to Mamata, which attracted me. I���������ve never played an oppressed woman before,��������� says the actor.
While Subhrajit Mitra plays her on-screen husband, Anamika Saha essays the head of the house. That apart, her in-laws are played by Sumanta Mukherjee and Debika Mitra.
