that claimed the life of the latter, Police submitted a chargesheet against the accused actor in an Alipore court by the Tollygunj police station, which is currently probing the case. Vikram has been charged under sections 279 (rash driving) , 338 (causing grievous hurt by act of endangering life), 427 (committing mischief) and 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC, as well as Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Vikram was arrested on July 6 and sent to Presidency Correctional Home where he's slated to be remanded till July 24. Out of the 40 witnesses cited in the chargesheet, eight recorded their statements before a judicial magistrate. They include Vikram and Sonika's common friends, many of whom saw him drink on the fateful night. Through the car’s Event Data Recorder (EDR) it was also revealed that Vikram was driving at a breakneck speed that night.
