Kolkata International Film Festival

(KIFF) which gets underway from November 10.

started its journey in 1995 and happens to be the second oldest and among the most prestigious film events in India.

The Ray classic, since its release in 1969, has been enjoying cult status among the audience even after all these years. ‘Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne’ is still remembered as a technical masterpiece, given the rudimentary infrastructure Bengali film industry had, when it was made. It’s also the film’s golden jubilee year.
