The Ray classic, since its release in 1969, has been enjoying cult status among the audience even after all these years. ‘Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne’ is still remembered as a technical masterpiece, given the rudimentary infrastructure Bengali film industry had, when it was made. It’s also the film’s golden jubilee year.
