Directed by Rajesh Touchriver and produced by Sridhara Martha, the Manoj Mishra starrer film is based on the much-talked about parcel bomb explosion case in Patnagarh of Bolangir district of Odisha. KIFF which is scheduled to be held from November 8 to 15 has already notified the producer and the director about their decision.

Sources close to the development claim the film was removed from the list at KIFF due to a legal notice from the family members of Soumya Sekhar Sahu, who was killed in the explosion. Soumya’s family members have alleged in the notice neither the film’s director nor the producer informed them before making ‘Patnagarh’.

For the unintended, Soumya and his grandmother Jemamani were killed On February 23, 2018, in the parcel bomb case while his newly married wife Reema Rani had suffered grievous injuries.

‘Patnagarh’ is slated for a theatrical release on November 8.
