‘Kolkata Chalontika’: Pavel’s film on Posta flyover collapse has a new release date

Pavel is super busy these days. While the young director is eagerly waiting for the release of his next film ‘Kolkata Chalontika’ in July, he has already started shooting for another film ‘Daktar Kaku’.
‘Kolkata Chalontika’, starring Aparajita Adhya, Anirban Chakrabarti, Kharaj Mukherjee, Rajatava Datta, Ishaa Saha, Sourav Das, Ditipriya Roy and Kiran Dutta, was earlier supposed to be released on April 15 but the release date has now been pushed to July 15.
Based on the Posta flyover collapse of 2016, the slice-of-a-life film is a story of three days. The first day shows people taking the busy flyover in order to reach their workplaces. The next day will see how these people face trauma after the collapse and how the tragedy unfolds. The third day shows Kolkata’s indomitable spirit as the grief-stricken people try to overcome the tragedy battling their anxieties. All the characters in the film are from different walks of life, who get affected by the incident.
On the other hand, ‘Daktar Kaku’ pays a humble tribute to the medical professionals who have worked day and night during the pandemic. The film which has already gone on the floors sees Prosenjit Chatterjee and Riddhi Sen playing a father and son who are doctors. Ena Saha will be seen in an important role in the film.

In ‘Daktar Kaku’, the father and son follow different ideals and this results in a conflict between them. The story shows how a greater humanitarian cause forces them to rethink and join hands.
Pavel has yet another film in the lineup waiting for its release. Titled ‘Mon Kharap’, it’s a psychological thriller starring Ankush, Riddhi Sen, Priyanka Bhattacharjee, Aparajita Adhya and others in the lead.
