Koel’s bestie becomes a mom!

Koel Mallick is over the moon. “My best friend, Antara Banerjee, with whom I used to study Psychology honours, gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday morning. I am so happy! Antara wanted a girl, but I kept telling her that all she could ask for was a healthy baby. Today, when I saw Antara and the baby, I had tears in my eyes. Till Monday night both of us were clicking pictures, so that she could flaunt her baby bump and today she is a mother! When I was holding the baby, so many memories of college life crossed my mind.I had already started doing films when I was in my second year and it was she who used to help me with notes as I would miss classes,” said Koel, in between a photoshoot. Did Antara ever treat her like a star? “No way! To her, I am her friend, Koel. In fact, she is my biggest critic too. What I like is her simplicity and honesty. It is not that we meet every day, but when we meet, we indulge in adda like there’s no tomorrow. But we try to talk every day. We are each other’s secret-keeper,” said Koel. The actress has started dubbing for Arindam Sil’s Mitin Mashi from Wednesday and has completed shooting for Rokto Rohosyo. “We have some days of shoot left for Bonny, directed by Parambrata Chatterjee. The film revolves around a Bengali couple, settled in Milan, who discovers some signs in their newborn son, which may indicate special powers. It is an interesting story, which intends to be a gripping thriller. We had a blast shooting in Italy,” said Koel.
