‘Kishore Kumar Junior’: Reasons why the film should be on your weekend watch list

Prosenjit Chatterjee is all geared up for his next ‘Kishore Kumar Junior’ which hits the theatres this Friday, October 12. Directed by national award winning Kaushik Ganguly, It encapsulates the story of a ‘Kishore konthi’ (a singer who is popular for singing Kishore Kumar hits) and the harsh reality behind his so-called glamorous avatar on stage during live shows. The story revolves around a popular Kishore Konthi singer. The personal life of the ‘macha’ singer isn’t as flashy and glittering as his clothes on live performances. His son is not that happy with his father’s profession as a ‘copy’ singer. However, it’s not just a singer and his depressed personal life, there are also other layers to explore. The trailer has already showed the other side of the plot as it addresses the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. A large portion of the film has been shot in Rajashthan near the Indo-Pak border where Kishore Kumar Junior, his wife and band members get kidnapped.
