KIFF 2024 announces its winners

The Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) 2024 honoured outstanding cinematic works across multiple categories, with a mix of international and Indian films capturing the spotlight.

In the International Competition: Innovation in Moving Images, Tarika by Milko Lazarov took the Best Film award, while the Best Director was awarded to Ana Endara for Querido Tropico. A special mention from the jury went to Arillo De Hombre Muerto (Dead Man's Switch), directed by Alejandro Gerber Bicecci. The FIPRESCI Award also went to Tarika.

In the Competition on Indian Language Films, Lachhi, directed by Krishnegowda, was recognised as Best Film, with the Best Director being awarded to Aaryan Chandra Prakash for Aajoor. A Special Jury Award was presented to Nukkad Naatak (A Street Play) by Tanmaya Shekhar.

In the Bengali Panorama, Dhruvor Aschorjo Jibon by Abhijit Chowdhury emerged as the Best Film.

Lastly, in the Asian Select (NETPAC Award), Putulnama by Ranajit Ray claimed the Best Film award.
