Dhrubo Banerjee is all set to return with his first-ever comedy film, generating quite a buzz right after the announcement was made. Titled ‘Bogla Mama Jug Jug Jiyo’, the film promises to be an entertaining watch on the big screen.
The announcement motion poster has already grabbed everyone’s attention, especially because of its exceptional character, Bogla Mama, brought to life by none other than Kharaj Mukhopadhyay in the poster. Conceived by author Rajkumar Moitra in the 1970s, Bogla Mama is a unique literary creation known for adding humor and charm to an amazing comedy franchise.
Joining Kharaj in Dhrubo’s much-anticipated comedy adventure, there are a host of colourful characters portrayed by Rajatabha Dutta, Aparajita Adhya, Kaushik Sen, Ditipriya Roy, Ujaan Chatterjee, and Riddhi Sen among others in key roles. To further elevate the film's ambiance, the music will be composed by the gifted Indraadip Das Gupta.
Dhrubo Banerjee directed Guptodhon franchise is already a massive hit with Abir Chatterjee’s Sona da character enjoying huge popularity among the masses. So, will there be a franchise with Bogla Mama as well? If this comedy strikes the bull’s eye at the box office there’s every possibility of an entertaining franchise based on this literary character.
Dhrubo Banerjee’s last film ‘Karnasubarner Guptodhon’ struck gold at the box office in 2022 and after that, the talented director also made his OTT debut with the critically acclaimed web series ‘Tiktiki’ starring Kaushik Ganguly and Anirban Bhattacharya in the lead.
