Kaushik thrilled with non-Bengalis and youngsters enjoying Jyesthoputro

Kaushik Ganguly is happy with the response he is getting for Jyesthoputro. “I am happy that so many non-Bengali moviegoers are praising the film. Today morning, a lady called me up to say that his daughter and their friends went to watch the film from college. And I felt so good that young people are watching the film. It is not a film about an elder brother.The film not only focusses on the bond between the two brothers, but it is a family drama also,” said Kaushik. He added, “We all know Ritwick Chakraborty is a brilliant actor. But in this film, Prosenjit scored 102 out of 100 and Ritwick scored 100 on 100. Bumbada is just brilliant in the film.”
Getting a proper domestic help is a major issue and a matter of concern nowadays, feels Kaushik. “There is a character called Mokai played by Pradeep Bhattacharya in the film. When I went for hall visits, people kept asking me where they can find a Mokai for their house,” said the director with a smile.
Jyesthoputro revolves around Indrajit, a famous superstar of Bengali films, who receives the news of his father’s demise and rushes to his native place, Ballabhpur. This is his first visit to the village in 10 years and Indrajit feels that it has changed a lot. He is unable to relate to the people and places as he used to. He gets nostalgic and realises how these 10 years have changed not only his surroundings, but also him. What follows next is the journey of Indrajit, the eldest son (Jyeshthoputro) of the family, trying to rediscover himself.
