‘Nagarkirtan’ was supposed to release today, February 15. But due to the legal problems between the film’s producers the release had to be shelved. Even all efforts for an amicable settlement proved futile. But it’s over now.
Kaushik Ganguly’s national award winning film is finally releasing.
The makers today during a press meet announced ‘Nagarkirtan’ will hit the theatres on February 22.
An elated Kaushik Ganguly urged the audience to watch this thought-provoking film in theatres as it’s not just a film, it also addresses an important issue in our society about free love.
“I am very thankful to all media houses for not reporting incorrect facts regarding the issue related to Nagarkirtan. We are obviously all very happy because of the verdict which enabled Nagarkirtan's release. This is not just a film but Madhu and Puti's love story addresses a very important issue in our society about free love, post the Sec-377 verdict. I genuinely want everyone to feel proud of this film that won 4 National Awards; that it got made in Bengali language and in Kolkata. The run up has been hampered a lot but hopefully with your support we will be able to reach out to the audience,” said the noted director.
‘Nagarkirtan’ stars
