This film, dedicated to the memory of the illustrious filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh, casts the multifaceted Kaushik Ganguly in a pivotal role. Although there were speculations about Abir Chatterjee being a part of the movie, recent sources confirm that he’s not associated with the film. The anticipation is quite high as the filmmakers will unveil the complete cast on August 22. The storyline is the brainchild of Indraadip, with Samragnee Bandyopadhyay crafting the script and dialogues. Plans are afoot to commence the shooting by September and conclude it before Durga Puja.

The title ‘Megh Peon’ pays tribute to Rituparno Ghosh's influence. The phrase originates from the song "Megh Peoner Khamer Bhitor Mon Kharaper Dista" from Ghosh's iconic film ‘Titli’. Rituparno wrote the lyrics, with Debojyoti Mishra composing the melody and Srikanto Acharya lending his voice to the famous song.

While many know Kaushik Ganguly as a brilliant director, his acting prowess is equally commendable. His stellar portrayal of Rahim Ali, a shehnai maestro and the father of the protagonist in Indraadip’s ‘Bismillah’, which was released last year, garnered widespread acclaim. Furthermore, his performance in ‘Kedara’ earned him several accolades. In addition to his remarkable acting skills, Kaushik remains a sought-after director. Following the success of ‘Ardhangini’ featuring Kaushik Sen, Churni Ganguly and Jaya Ahsan, he wrapped up the shooting of ‘Asukh Bisukh’, starring Sayani Ghosh, Ankush, Ishaa Saha, and Parambrata Chatterjee, among others. This only further underscores Kaushik Ganguly's unmatched skills both behind the camera and in front of it. His much-anticipated Mrinal Sen tribute film ‘Palan’ is also coming out this September.
