Kaushik and Churni’s son, Ujaan, makes his debut

Pavel, whose last release was the heart-warming Babar Naam Gandhiji, has begun his next — Rosogolla. The unit began shooting in Baruipur this morning. For a year now, Pavel has been doing his best to be truthful to the era in which the story is set. The team roped in national-Award winning art director Nitish Roy to create the sets. Debuting as the ‘Columbus of rosogolla’, Nobin Chandra Das, is UjaanGanguly — son of Kaushik and Churni Ganguly.Ujaan, 18, too has been prepping for long to get under the shoes of the iconic confectioner-entrepreneur of 19th century Bengal. Pavel is no less impressed by the young actor. Talking about the youngster, the director had once said, “I had youngsters coming to me for the role. I would always think how to turn them into Nobin Chandra Das. When I first saw Ujaan, I realised this is my Nobin. His simplicity and innocence are his greatest USP.”
