Kamaleswar Mukherjee is on another recce trip to Kalahari, Africa for Chander PaharKamaleswar Mukherjee is all set to bring alive
Chander Pahar on celluloid, but thats stale news. What's new is that the veteran director knows that adapting the classic that most Bengali kid grow up reading would be no easy task and hence, has prepared himself accordingly. He has gone for a second trip to the Kalahari desserts, Africa for another recce. It seems Mukherjee is leaving no stone unturned to fish out the perfect locale for his film.
This 1937 novella by Bibhutibhushan Bandhopadhyay had fascinated Mukherjee forever. Says Mukherjee, ''this is one of teh tougest projects i have ever taken up. the pre-production and research itself is taking up a lot of time. I can't let myself rest until I find the perfect spot. After all I can't compromise with
Chader Pahar.''
The character of Shankar, the hero of
Chander Pahar will be played by Dev. And Dev too is working hard to pull off this once in a life-time role. Lets hope that all that hard work will shine through on screen.
