Jisshu teams up with Kangana Ranaut yet again!

The buzz around the biopic on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister late Jayalalithaa, ‘Thalaivi’, now gets bigger. The Kangana Ranaut-starrer welcomes a new face in its ensemble cast. As per industry sources, the makers of Thalaivi have roped in Jisshu Sengupta to play yesteryear star Shoban Babu in the biopic.
Shoban Babu and Jayalalithaa reportedly shared a close relationship once.So, whoever plays the late Shoban Babu has to be that good to pull off such a key character. The makers were contemplating whom to cast for the role.
However, considering Jisshu Sengupta’s powerful performances in recent times, ‘Thalaivi’ makers felt they could capitalise on his looks to bring alive the yesteryear actor. Interestingly, when Jisshu was offered the role, he instantly agreed to play the part, and has already started preparing for the role. He will also undergo grooming sessions to get his looks right.
Jisshu recently made his Telugu debut with the Naga-Shaurya starrer ‘Aswathama’. The dashing Tolly hero is also playing a key role in his third Hindi film ‘Durgavati’opposite Bhumi Pednekar. He will be seen in the Shakuntala Devi biopic as Vidya Balan’s on-screen husband as well.
