It's easy to love each other when difficulties never cross your path. However, in real life, all relationships are tested at one point or another and that’s where the challenge lies.
Jiit Chakraborty’s Friday release ‘Kothamrito’ follows the same path and reminds us about the simplicities of life.
“Our film is a simple tale of relationship. It never tries to make the narrative too much complex, instead, focuses on the simple rule of a married life – understanding and keeping faith.
There have been so many films that have worked on how complex a relationship can be. Whether it is age difference, queer or extramarital affairs, but what about the simple sweet things we see in a relationship? The main essence of the story is the significance of communication and how it plays a key role in any relationship. Also, there is an important question that will make you think twice. Do we really have to look for the ‘right way’ to make a relationship work, or is it more important to work out on ‘our way’? We have often heard that Relationships are made in heaven, but the funny thing is their success and failure depend on how we nourish them on earth. Our film explores these aspects, but in a preachy way,” explains the young director who nervous and excited at the same time ahead of the film’s release.
‘Kothamrito’ is an unconventional story of love overcoming silence. In the film,
Kaushik Ganguly plays Sanatan who can’t speak and
Aparajita Adhya will be seen as his wife Sulekha.
Since it’s a heartening tale of matured relationship Jiit feels every person in a relationship has to feel supported. “I think it’s important to maintain compassion and empathy for each other. Not just supporting one another, it’s also important to realize your own needs and communicate boundaries around support. Our story sheds light on this aspect as well. I can assure the audience that this is not a relationship drama that will make one gloomy. Rather, the understanding between Sanatan and Sulekha will put a smile on your face,” adds the young director who feels lucky to direct powerhouse actors Kaushik Ganguly and Aparajita Adhya in his second film.
