The actor has agreed to shoot for Bengali version of popular UK game show The Million Pound Drop
Amitabh Bachchan has done it with Kaun Banega Crorepati. Sourav Ganguly did it with Dadagiri. And now Jeet Tollywoods million-rupee heartthrob is ready to host a Bengali version of the money-driven reality show, The Million Pound Drop.

Shooting begins in two weeks. Though Jeet is a little reluctant to divulge details, he said this: Talks are on. I have been approached to anchor this show to be aired on a Bengali channel. Its a fact that no Indian star has ever worked in a show like this. Unlike other shows, which are based on international formats and are first made in Hindi, this is the first international show being adapted in Bengali, says Jeet.
For those not in the loop, The Million Pound Drop has a very interesting format. The thrill of this game show is that instead of contestants winning a prize kitty after a show gets over, TMPD gives the prize money to the contestant at the start of the game itself. The questions are thrown at the contestant after this and he has to place all the money on one or more of the answers. While any amount placed on the correct answer is carried through to the next question, the money placed on an incorrect answer is lost.
Says a source associated with the show, The late Samir Chanda had already discussed the details of the shows format and had sketched the designs of the sets. Work on the show is in full swing and the sets have already been put up in a private film city on the outskirts of Kolkata. Endemol that had been involved in bringing Bigg Boss to its Indian viewers is in charge of this Bengali show. It will be directed by members of Team Endemol.
The Bengali name of the show is yet to be decided. Adds the source, The channel is mulling a few titles and is also finalizing the amount that is to be given to each contestant. Shooting should start from the middle of September.
Pritimoy Chakraborty, the owner of the movie town where the show will be shot, says, Set construction began on August 28. In Kolkata weve never had a set as huge as this for any other show. The set for the original American show is being replicated here with a few Indian elements.
