It’s ‘work-from-New York’ time for Suman Mukhopadhyay

After a rigorous 24-day shooting schedule of Putul Nacher Itikotha in Santiniketan and staging his ambitious play, Mephisto on Saturday, Suman Mukhopadhyay is all set to travel to New York for a scholarship project. Meanwhile, the director has intended to carry on the post production of his film online.
“In Putul Nacher Itikotha, I tried to do things a bit differently.We had a long schedule. We shot the film for 24 days. The making of this film is also a slow-burning process for me. I will be leaving for New York by the end of this month and I will stay there for approximately six months. We plan to carry on working online,” the director told us.
The film has an ensemble cast with Jaya Ahsan, Abir Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ananya Chatterjee and others in pivotal roles.. “Performers have delivered outstanding performance. They also got the sense of doing something different and I am very happy with their work,” said Suman.
Meanwhile, Suman’s latest play, Mephisto, was staged on Saturday at Rabindra Sadan in two consecutive shows. Several celebrities, including Jaya Ahsan, Ananya Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen, Reshmi Sen, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, Surangana Bandyopadhyay and others, were spotted at the evening show.
