, Rancho, as her son. She is very particular of his diet and other needs. So naturally, during Kali Puja and Diwali, when Rancho suffers from extreme stress caused by sound pollution, Saayoni is the one who suffers the most. “It feels as if nothing is enough. Whatever I do to comfort him, doesn’t work and he is always in constant pain during this time of the year,” she added. But more than the cracker noise, Rancho gets scared by the loud music played at local puja pandals.

“He constantly barks and runs around the house. It’s very painful to him in such a state. I can feel the pain he goes through. It feels as if he is protesting against the loud music played at the pandals, not to mention the noise of fire crackers,” Saayoni said. Saayoni has tried everything but nothing has worked so far. So, she keeps Rancho indoor, while keeping all the doors and windows locked. “They have a greater auditory ability and can hear the slightest of sound. So, I can imagine what these extreme noise can cause them. It’s very painful,” said the Tollywood actress. From this year, Saayoni and her family have taken a pledge to not burn firecrackers at all. “If I stop bursting crackers from this year, someone else might follow suit in time to come and that way, some more people will realise that their fun is causing harm to others,” she added.
