It was a reunion of sorts when Ishan Mazumder got the chance to share the screen with Swastika Mukherjee in the upcoming OTT show ‘Nikhoj’. They last shared the screen in Arjun Dutta’s film ‘Guldasta’ and had an amazing shooting expereince. Interestingly, in Ayan Chakraborti’s ‘Nikhoj’ they will be seen as the onscreen husband and wife.
An excited Ishan who recently completed her shooting part in the thriller series that also has Tota Roy Choudhury in the lead shares, “Shooting for ‘Nikhoj’ feels like reliving the moments of Arjun Dutta's Guldasta shot back in the year 2020 where I happened to share the screen with Swastika Mukherjee. I feel truly elated to share the screen again with one of the evergreen Bengali actors like Swastika Mukherjee and be her co-star in ‘Nikhoj’. I'm also thankful to director Ayan Chakraborti and SVF for believing in me.”
The story revolves around a mysterious case of a missing girl and a mother's search for her daughter. While Swastika Mukherjee will be seen playing the role of a top cop, Tota Roy Choudhury is set to take on the role of a celebrated journalist.
Although Ishan’s screen time is small he’s elated to work with such an ensemble cast and looking forward to more challenging roles.
Besides ‘Nikhoj’, the talented actor is eagerly waiting for the release of his next film ‘Mayaa’, directed by Raajhorshee De. “This film is a completely different adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. It is like a subversion of Macbeth from a woman’s perspective. I am happy to be a part of such an ensemble cast and I can assure this will be a unique experience for the audience when watched on the big screen,” adds Ishan who has just wrapped up the shooting of yet another film ‘Sada Ronger Prithibi’, again directed by Raajhorshee De.
