’ speculation is rife about who will play the iconic Bengali sleuth now. We have already seen Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Abir Chatterjee, Parambrata Chattopadhyay and

Tota Roy Choudhury

as Feluda and each of them looked impressive on screen.

However, Sandip had said many times that he’s looking for a new face for his next Feluda. The actor will have to be loaded with his natural athletic look, aggressiveness along with sharpness. And now, the buzz is strong that Sandip Ray might cast seasoned actor Indraneil Sengupta as Feluda. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation from either the director or the makers. The shooting of ‘Hatyapuri’ is likely to start from May end and the detective thriller is expected to release during Christmas this year.

has previously played another Bengali sleuth Kiriti Roy on the big screen and his natural acting impressed all. Interestingly, Indraneil himself has always insisted that he would love to play Feluda someday.

Interestingly, Tota Roy Choudhury and Anirban Bhattacharya’s names have also surfaced as the next Feluda candidate, especially after Tota’s supreme act in Srijit Mukherji directed web series and Anirban’s sharp acting and appearance as Byomkesh on a popular OTT platform.

In 'Haytapuri', Feluda goes to Puri for vacation but gets embroiled in investigating a murder in the coastal town. Sandip Ray had merged two Feluda stories - 'Samaddarer Chabi' and 'Golokdham Rahasyo' in his last Feluda movie 'Double Feluda' in 2016, to mark the 50th anniversary of the birth of the fictional character.
