Indraneil is a fine actor: Aniruddha

Indraneil Sengupta has signed on Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury���������s ���������Aparajita��������� and will be off to San Francisco to shoot the movie in May.
Besides, the actor will also be making his debut as a television anchor for a Bengali reality show that will be shot in the Andamans. Says Aniruddha, ���������I have been in talks with Indraneil for quite some time.Indraneil is a fine actor and will be playing the long lost boyfriend of Kuhu (played by Padmapriya).���������
Apart from his debut stint as an anchor for an adventure reality show, Indraneil Sengupta has also signed on Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury���������s ���������Aparajita��������� where he plays the long lost boyfriend of Padmapriya.
He has never been to the Andamans. He has never been a contestant of any adventure reality show. He has never hosted one either. Come March 17 and Indraneil Sengupta will be leaving for the Andamans to host a reality show titled ���������Hazar Ghanta��������� that will see regular people trying to survive in the jungles.
Says Indraneil, ���������This is my first stint as an anchor. This is an adventure reality show and that���������s what drew me to it because I love adventure. The show is also the first of its kind in Kolkata. Besides anchoring, I will be the leader of the pack. I will act as a friend, well-wisher and counsellor to the participants and will also have to discipline them. Both the channel and the production house believed that this would go with my image.��������� Is the remuneration also a factor, considering that non-fiction programmes offer flattering pay packets to celebs? Indraneil, however, refutes the suggestion saying, ���������It���������s not the money; it���������s the show I want to be associated with. Films are paying me good money too. So, that���������s not a factor here.��������� If the buzz is to be believed, Indraneil was offered 10 lakh as his remuneration for ���������System��������� . However, the actor says, ���������I will never talk about money.���������
Considering that the format of the show requires the participants to spend 1,000 hours in the jungles of Andamans, will Indraneil himself be incommunicado? ���������No, I shall be accessible on the phone. It is a 45-day commitment.��������� His wife, Barkha, who is judging another dance reality show will be visiting him periodically. ���������She might not stay with me for the entire period but will definitely go over to meet me,��������� he says.
Interestingly, Indraneil isn���������t keen on himself being a participant of a reality show with this kind of a format. ���������We are fine if it���������s a talent-based show. Barkha and I had been initially offered ���������Challenge Nibi Na��������� . However, we are not keen on doing a show that involves tracking the changing dynamics between people.���������
And what happens to Indraneil���������s pending film commitments? ���������I shall return and do the pending work of my movies. I will shoot two songs of ���������System��������� in June,��������� he says. Meanwhile, Indraneil has also signed on Anirudha Roy Chowdhury���������s ���������Aparajita��������� will be shot in San Francisco in May. ���������I have always been keen on working with Tonyda . Though it���������s not a big role, it has a strong impact on the film,��������� he adds.
And, what about Soumitra Bagchi���������s ���������Le Halwa��������� where he is supposed to play Prosenjit���������s brother? ���������We still need to work out some combination dates for that. It will take some time to figure that out,��������� he signs off.
